Former lab undergraduate, Sarah Perelman, sends news ...

Alexandra's first undergraduate and Honors Thesis student in the lab, Sarah Perelman, sends greetings at the start of her medical studies at UPenn's School of Medicine! I just started three weeks ago at Penn, and it's been a whirlwind. We had our White Coat Ceremony a couple of weeks ago. A couple of pictures are attached! Everything has been great so far - it's been a ton of studying but I'm liking my classes - so far it's genetics, biochemistry, embryology, and cell biology (so some of it looks familiar from undergrad but with added mechanisms and details!). We wholeheartedly wish her good luck and success!

The Deaconescu lab presents at the UTRA Symposium @ Brown!

Lab undergraduates, Aryana and Valerie present their team research at the Annual Research Symposium in beautiful Sayles Hall! Check out our gallery for photos! Both Aryana and Valerie were the recipients of summer fellowships from Brown University and The National Institutes of Health, through their RI-INBRE program, and researched factors involved in relieving conflicts between the replication and transcription machineries.
